My Top Ten Emerging Influential Blogs of 2008

Here’s how I define Emerging Influential

My Top Ten is not yet complete but here’s my initial list of nominees: (in alphabetical order)
(updated as of June 1, 2008 )

Chefie’s World
I first met Chef Jun Jun de Guzman when I took bread making classes at the CACS Davao. He is a passionate man who loooves to cook, bake, and teach. He also has a passion for writing. Chef Jun combines all these passions in his blog where he generously shares his cooking tips and tricks, recipes, and his food finds.

Davao Delicious
Davao Delicious is just one of the many Davao blogs which provides alternative information on Davao City. The blog highlights the many culinary delights in the city, enticing locals and tourists to have a taste of Davao.

Davao Photo
Showing a view of the world through the lens of a Davaoeño, this blog features photos of Davao City, and things around the city. The blog also showcases other sights and views as seen by the blogger.

Digital Puto
Not all stories can be shared with words. Pictures capture a moment in time. Digital Puto, redefined for me, the way I see photos.

Filipino Voices
News, Politics, Social Commentary… never has these three become more interesting and fascinating until varying voices and dissenting opinions were hosted under one blog. Each blogger presents strong opinions, passionate arguments, and insightful commentaries that are infectious and effective.
This blog demonstrates how personal experiences can be relate-able and interesting even to people who do not know the blogger. This blog excels in turning seemingly insignificant events and thoughts into interesting, thought-provoking and entertaining reads.

Gen Santos
There’s more to Mindanao than war and Davao City. While our group had a lot of pains in establishing our beloved city’s balanced online presence, this blog has accomplished a lot in a small time. By giving its readers timely, insightful, and varied entries about General Santos, the blog has painted a balanced and accurate picture of the city’s beauty and charm.

[EDIT: Just learned that MB is not qualified for this. But I want to keep my entry about it anyway.
Mindanao Bloggers
2007 was the year Mindanao asserted its presence and redefined its image through blogs. And this is best represented by the Mindanao Bloggers blog. The blog began as a information source for the Mindanao Bloggers Summit held last October 2007. It quickly turned into a showcase of the different faces of Mindanao blogs and bloggers.]

Migs Mobile
Cellphones, gaming consoles, digital cameras, and other gadgets… the best, easy to understand scoop on these can be found in one blog. The blogger offers fresh and refreshing takes on the latest gadgets and gizmos in the market.

Work With Ria
When life became to busy, and everything became all about work, there was no way to go but blog about work. With six major (and several minor rakets) jobs as a Legislative Research Assistant, self-professed Professional Blogger, Marketing Consultant, seasonal Tutor, Marketing Consultant, and Events Planner, the blogger provides a myriad of experiences, insights, and tips that can interest job seekers, professionals, and freelancers.

You Got Tech
People doubted the wisdom of creating a technology blog for non-techies. But for non-techies like me, YGT proved that there is hope for us. While most tech blogs cater to the needs and questions of the techies, this blog gives us non-techies practical information that will guide us through the perilous world of techie jargon, dlsrs, resolutions, isps, and pings.

These here on my list, have changed the way I see blogs, blogging, business, technology, and life.
